The S.M.I.S. Tour is a one-day educational and recreational experience designed to expand learning beyond the classroom, encourage meaningful interactions, and strengthen teamwork within the SMIS community. Set for March 30 (Sunday), the tour features three key destinations, each offering a unique area of learning and growth:
📍 Gardenia Bakery Plant (Industry & Innovation) – A behind-the-scenes look at large-scale automated bread production, showcasing food technology, quality control, and modern business operations.
📍 Rizal Shrine (Historical Learning) – A visit to the birthplace of Dr. José Rizal in Calamba, Laguna, where participants will explore historical artifacts and develop a deeper appreciation of his contributions to the nation.
📍 Shercon Resort & Ecology Park (Leisure & Team Building) – A nature escape in Batangas featuring team-building activities, outdoor challenges, and recreational spaces that promote collaboration, relaxation, and synergy.
This tour provides hands-on learning and engagement while reinforcing the SMIS values of excellence, integrity, and collaboration.

👶 Can my child join without a chaperone?
✔ Grades 4 to 10 students – Allowed to join without a companion.

🚍 Bus and Tour Rules
✔ Remain seated at all times while the bus is in motion.
✔ Loud noises and disruptive behavior are not allowed.
✔ Follow the buddy system to stay with your group.
✔ Pay attention to teachers, staff, and tour guides.
✔ Stick to designated areas and routes to avoid accidents.
✔ Respect tour guides and school personnel as you would your teachers.
✔ Be mindful of nature—do not damage plants, tease animals, or touch hazardous objects.
✔ Keep track of time to avoid delays in the schedule.
✔ Apply sunscreen and insect repellant for protection, especially during outdoor activities.
✔ Consume food and beverages in designated areas only and dispose of trash properly.
✔ Dress appropriately for the activities and weather and bring extra layers if necessary.
✔ Avoid littering. This may result in restricted access to certain areas.
✔ Pack necessary travel items like a small pillow or blanket for long bus rides.
✔ Stay hydrated and bring healthy snacks.
🚗 Can we bring our own car?
🚫 No. For safety and uniformity, all participants must use the school-arranged bus. Private vehicles, convoys, or other transport arrangements are strictly not allowed.
❌ Any participant violating this rule will incur a penalty, which will be reflected in the SMIS Campuslink account of the student.
📌 Why is this rule strictly enforced?
✔ Safety & Accountability: The school must ensure that all participants are accounted for at all times. Unauthorized vehicles increase the risk of delays, miscommunication, and security issues.
✔ Fairness to the Tour Provider: The school has coordinated transportation with an official tour provider. Using personal vehicles disrespects the agreed-upon terms and arrangements.
✔ Preventing Disruptions: Convoys and separate transport modes cause schedule delays and affect the overall experience of all participants.
✔ Courtesy to the School and Tour Provider: The school and tour provider have worked to ensure a well-organized, safe, and smooth experience for everyone. All participants must respect these efforts by following the transportation rules.
🚨 Strict Compliance Required: Any participant attempting to use an unauthorized vehicle will be subject to disciplinary action, including additional penalties and restrictions from future school activities.
