SMIS Tutorials Enrollment Guidelines

GETTING STARTED
SMIS Tutorials is open to all online and onsite students who have completed our online registration form.

TUTORIAL BATCH DATES, RENEWAL, AND START OF TUTORIAL
Tutorials will follow designated batch dates, which will be communicated to parents via email.

To secure a slot for the next batch, parents must complete the tutorial payment before the start of the batch. Students can attend the scheduled tutorials only after full payment of the chosen 55-minute plan. Kindly communicate with Teacher Angela via email ([email protected]) or her Viber account to confirm available schedules.

Late enrollment after a batch has started is allowed but requires full payment for the entire batch, regardless of the number of remaining sessions.

RELAYING OF CONCERNS
  • For tutorial flow, tutor concerns, and feedback, reach out to the Director of Academics, Teacher Angela, through [email protected] or her Viber account.
  • For payment and schedule concerns, reach out to the Director of Finance, Teacher Perl, through [email protected].

ATTENDANCE TRACKING
The attendance of each session will be tracked by the teacher in charge. Parents may request updates regarding their child's attendance if needed.

EXPIRY AND COMPLETION OF SESSIONS
Tutorials expire 6 weeks from the start of the batch. Markians must complete the 20 sessions allotted for each tutorial session payment within this period. There are no exceptions to this policy, and no refunds or extensions will be granted. Unused sessions will be forfeited after the expiry date.

If there is a need to extend the 6-week expiry due to consecutive class suspensions lasting more than two weeks (10 school days), the school will extend the expiry period by the number of suspension days that exceed the two-week (10 school days) allowance.

LEARNING MODE

  • Online Tutorials: Conducted via SMIS Google Meet invites.
  • Onsite Tutorials: Conducted strictly within the school premises.

To learn more about the available learning modes, kindly contact Teacher Angela via email ([email protected]) or her Viber account.

PUNCTUALITY AND NO EXTENSION
Students must arrive on time and be prepared to start at the scheduled time. If a student is late, the session will still end at the original class time. Tutorials will strictly follow the prescribed schedule. Early drop-offs (over 30 minutes) or late pickups are discouraged.

Students may wait in the school after their regular classes until their scheduled tutorial. During this time, students are expected to stay in designated waiting areas and follow school rules.

THE ROLE OF PARENTS
Parents play a key role in their child's education, and their involvement is important for the student's progress. Please coordinate with your assigned tutor and communicate regularly through email to support your child’s success. Additionally, parents are expected to reinforce lessons at home, ensure the completion of tasks, and encourage their child to attend tutorials regularly.

WHAT THE STUDENTS NEED
Students must bring all required materials for the tutorial sessions. They should arrive at the scheduled or assigned time for their session. There will be no schedule adjustments, as the students’ schedules depend on their respective grade-level schedules.

COVERAGE OF TUTORIALS
  • Markians: The tutorial will cover weekly lessons and tasks based on the tutor's assessment and the learner's needs.
  • Non-Markians: Teachers require access to the student’s weekly assignments and lessons at least a day before the tutorial. Failure to provide these in advance may result in the use of tutorial time for preparation.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES AND BENEFITS
  • Completion of weekly homework assignments during tutorial sessions.
  • Individualized support for students’ specific questions and learning needs.
  • Improved study habits and organization.
  • Increased confidence in subject matter.
  • Preparation for quizzes and exams.

IN CASE OF ABSENCE AND SUSPENSION OF CLASSES
Tutorial sessions missed due to student absence are considered paid unless the absence is due to the tutor's unavailability or official suspension of classes.

While there is no need to notify the school of absences, doing so is encouraged to ensure smooth communication and planning.

YOUR CHILD'S ASSIGNED TEACHER
Your child's tutor will be an education graduate. Tutors will not be the child’s regular subject teachers. Tutors will also be available outside tutorial hours for additional support via email.

BEHAVIOR POLICY
Respectful and cooperative behavior is expected at all times. Persistent disruptions or failure to follow guidelines may result in:
  1. A formal warning.
  2. Communication with the parent or guardian.
  3. Adjustment of the learning mode or dismissal from the program if the behavior persists.

SICKNESS
Please do not send sick children to onsite tutorials to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

EMERGENCY
Parents have already provided emergency contact details through the school year registration form. If updates are needed, you may provide a new contact through [email protected].

ONSITE ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Electronic devices must remain off during tutorials unless necessary for the session and approved by the tutor.

SCHOOL EQUIPMENT
Students are expected to handle school property with care. Parents are responsible for any damages caused by their child.

FOODS AND BEVERAGES
Snacks and drinks may only be consumed with the tutor's permission.

REMINDERS ABOUT COMMUNICATION
For any concerns, please directly communicate with the following:
  • Teacher Angela for tutorial schedules, tutorial flow, and feedback through [email protected] or her Viber account.
  • Teacher Perl for payment and financial concerns through [email protected].

CHANGE OF FEES, RULES, AND REGULATIONS
  • The school may adjust tutorial fees without prior notice.
  • Any changes to rules and regulations will be communicated through email to existing tutees at least 5 school days before implementation.

NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE
All paid tutorial fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

THE SERVICES GIVEN
SMIS Tutorials provide personalized learning plans tailored to the student's skills and needs, ensuring growth in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral areas.
